The seed for Beattitudes Home Health Care, Inc. was sown in the heart of a young 8-year-old girl living just five blocks away from her beloved great-grandmother in the quaint town of Albouystown. Intriguingly, whenever Granny fell ill, an intuitive pull led the young girl to her, often finding her bed-bound and in need of care.
With surprising strength, this young girl tenderly cared for her ailing great-grandmother, serving her cherished palm bread with butter and coffee. Granny’s grateful gaze and words, “Thank you, girlie,” remain etched in my memory, a silent proclamation of my purpose. Back then, dementia was a lesser-known term, which explains why Granny affectionately addressed her many granddaughters as “girlie,” often unable to recall all their names. The chores, from cleaning to washing clothes by the yard’s standpipe, were done by the young girl with genuine love and dedication.
Years flew by. After Granny’s passing, my journey took me from school to university, where I majored in Banking and Finance. Holding various roles, I held a job as a direct care counselor at a group home upon a friend’s recommendation. It was unlike any other job I had — the profound joy and fulfillment I felt post every shift were unparalleled.
Decades after my great-grandmother’s passing, a realization struck: this caregiving, this service was my true calling. “This is why you were created.”
With over 15 years in home health care, I pursued further studies in human services, graduating with top honors. Determined to give back to the pillars of our great nation, I envisioned providing them with dignified care in the warmth of their homes or even nursing homes, if necessary.
With unwavering faith and inspiration from my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Beattitudes Home Health Care, Inc. came into existence. The name, with its unique spelling, encapsulates the heart-driven attitude of care we uphold.
There’s an unparalleled satisfaction in serving those who can’t fend for themselves. As Beattitudes Home Health Care, Inc.’s Executive Director and owner, I occasionally step into various roles. It serves as both a tribute to our humble beginnings and a reminder of the invaluable essence of HOME HEALTH CARE.
Warm regards,
